Break Dance Class
B-boying or breaking, commonly referred to as breakdancing, is a style of dance that evolved as part of hip-hop culture among African American and Latino American youths in New York City. Breaking includes four primary moves: toprock, downrock, power moves and freezes.
Coordination, style, flexibility, and rhythm are the keys to successful breakdancing. Breakdancing is one of the most improvisational dance styles, allowing for each dancer to customize his or her routine with athleticism and imagination. However, since many breakdancers have created moves that borrow from gymnastics and martial arts.
Today, breakdancing is an important part of pop culture, often appearing in popular movies and television shows.
